Tar is an old Istrian village situated on a hill above the Tarska Bay, and for centuries its inhabitants have been engaged in fishing, livestock farming, and agriculture — with olive growing and viticulture playing a particularly important role.

Such a tradition was long honored in the Mušković family, until it was interrupted in the 1980s due to the growing development of tourism. However, this family story has a beautiful continuation: in 2022, father Denis and son Kevin decided, after forty years, to revive the family farm by planting new vineyards and olive groves. Since the family lives in the part of Tar called Fratta, they are locally known as "Iz Fratte" ("from Fratta"), and they decided to use this expression in the local dialect — "De Fratta" — as the name of their brand.

Today, this family-run boutique winery cultivates four hectares of vineyards and two hectares of olive trees. There are plans to gradually expand the estate to a total of ten hectares, which matches the capacity of their modern wine cellar, which also includes an elegant tasting room that can accommodate up to fifty visitors. The vineyards are located in the Rogovići micro-location, above the Mirna River valley, where red soil dominates. The plantations are young, planted in 2022 and 2023. The grape varieties include the two most important Istrian indigenous varieties — Istrian Malvasia and Teran, along with Merlot and Yellow Muscat.

Currently, the winery is present on the market with five wine labels, the majority of which is dedicated to fresh Istrian Malvasia. The current annual production is 25,000 bottles, with a tendency to grow.
