In the luxurious setting of the Adriatic Istria Resort by Minor Hotels in Savudrija, Vinistra once again brings together the best of Croatian winemaking at the prestigious Decanter 2026 Winners Showcase.
This exclusive event will take place on 2 July 2026 and will present the medal winners from the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, the world’s most influential wine competition.
A walk-around tasting format, a selection of more than 40 wineries, and a professional audience from the region make this event a unique meeting point for the wine industry, experts, and wine enthusiasts.
For the first time, the event also opens its doors to the wider public, offering a unique opportunity to taste some of the best wines from Croatia. The ticket price is €40, and visitors will be able to sample the highest-rated wines from this year’s Decanter judging from across Croatia, all in one place and in a truly unique setting.

Croatian winemakers won a record breaking number of medals
412 medals for Croatia
At this year's Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, Croatian wines achieved an exceptional result, winning a total of 412 medals.
The special Best in Show award (97 points) was won by Marijan Winery for Marijan Plaža Plavac 2021.
Istria also achieved remarkable success, winning a total of 103 medals, including 2 platinum and 13 gold medals.

Istrian winemakers won 103 medals
Two platinum medals went to Istria: one to Bastian Winery for Marchiori Malvazija Istarska 2023, and one to Bruno Ferenac for Malvazija Paulina 2024. As many as 13 Istrian wines received gold medals: St. Euphemia 2019 from Vivoda Winery; Malvazija 2025 from Baćac Winery; Malvazija 2025 from Vina Brčić; Konstantin Aged Malvazija 2022 from Vina Deklić; Matošević Alba Robinia 2022 from Matošević Winery; Templara Monte d’Oro 2024 from Rossi Winery; San Salvatore Muškat 2022 from Benvenuti Winery; Muškat Mark 2021 from Fakin Winery; Contarini Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 from Degrassi Winery; and Teran 2022 from Berba by Bertoša. Tomaz Winery won three gold medals for Avangarde Malvazija Istarska 2025, Barbarossa Teran 2023, and Barbarossa Superior 2021.
