From March 19th to March 21st in Düsseldorf, at one of the largest wine fairs in the world, Vinistra association of winegrowers and winemakers of Istria has made possible for Istria to present itself as a wine region through 13 renowned Istrian wineries.
The most dynamic Croatian wine region, Istria, will be presented independently for the first time in Düsseldorf at Prowein. Among the wine producers from 60 countries, there will be 13 famous wineries from Istria - Agrolaguna, Damjanić wines, Medea winery, Fakin, Meneghetti winery, Pervino, Cattunar, ROSSI winery & distillery, Bertoša wines, Kozlović winery, Benvenuti, Matošević wines and Franković winery.
Prominent Istrian winemakers will be exhibiting as part of Vinistra, the association of winegrowers and winemakers of Istria, at an independent stand in hall 12, where they will present themselves alongside countries such as Portugal, Hungary and Georgia.
"It is extremely important for us to present ourselves at the only international wine fair that monitors the entire world wine market. We are particularly interested in the fact that it is held in Germany, the most important tourism market for Croatia and Istria, which is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean. With an emphasis on top wines and the Istrian wine tradition, we will primarily present our indigenous varieties - Malvasia Istriana and Teran," said Luka Rossi, president of Vinistra.
Have you already tasted Malvasia Istriana and Teran?
Malvasia Istriana and Teran are award-winning indigenous Istrian varieties already recognized by wine lovers around the world. Although there are varieties with the same name in the world, Malvasia Istriana is an indigenous variety of white wine with a tradition that is more than 400 years old. This is a full and harmonious wine with refined fruit and flower aromas, deep golden to pale yellow in colour. The second flagship of Istrian winemakers - Teran is a robust red wine with a full flavour, strong character, distinct acidity and aroma of forest fruits.
