By purchasing an online ticket for the symbolic price of ten euros, you support the project of planting a new vineyard with a clonal selection of Teran
Another top-notch wine event awaits all lovers of Istrian wines. Following the highly successful 30th Vinistra, on May 26th, Istria will once again open the doors of its cellars. The 24th edition of this attractive event, known as the Wine Day 2024, will feature more than 50 wineries and several distilleries from all parts of the peninsula.
There's a new feature this year. Participation now requires a fee, with tickets priced at ten euros. You can purchase them here and thus participate in the historic planting of a vineyard with a clonal selection of Teran at a prime micro-location. This project, valued at over 100,000 euros, spans ten years and is being realized by the Vinistra association in collaboration with the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in Poreč and the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb.
"The goal is to select virus-free elite vines from old Teran vineyards to elevate the production of this unique indigenous variety to a higher level. Through this project, members of the Vinistra association are united in their desire for our Teran, which already has exceptional characteristics, to achieve even better results," said Luka Rossi, president of the Vinistra association, inviting all friends of Istrian wines to come to Istria once again on the last Sunday in May.
The association explains that after purchasing a ticket for the Wine Day, you will receive a confirmation with a QR code via email. With it, you can pick up a wristband at one of seven points (wineries) that will grant you entry to your favorite wineries.
The ticket includes a tasting of three wines per winery, and the number of wineries you can visit is unlimited. However, don't forget to reserve your spot at the selected cellars, also via email.
