At the prestigious wine fair in Düsseldorf, 11 renowned winemakers will present their wines in even more attractive Vinistra exhibition space, accompanied by two exciting masterclasses.
Istrian winemakers are once again independently presenting themselves at Prowein, the world’s most prestigious wine fair, which will take place in Düsseldorf from March 16 to 18. This marks the third consecutive year that they are exhibiting at the fair in Germany, under the organization of Vinistra, association of winemakers and vinegrowers of Istria.
Eleven renowned Istrian wineries will be represented this year: Cattunar, Fakin, Agrolaguna, Veralda, Medea, Degrassi, Dešković, Damjanić, Domaine Koquelicot, Deklić and Rossi. They will showcase their wines in Hall 9, in a larger and more attractive exhibition area of 85 square meters. The stand is round in shape, open on all sides, and designed in line with modern market demands.
“It is extremely important for us that Istrian winemakers, united under Vinistra, are represented at the world’s largest wine fair. Istria’s status as Croatia’s most recognizable wine region has been confirmed by the growing interest from the German market. We are not only presenting Istria as an important wine region but also as an attractive tourist destination. That’s why this year we have designed an even more appealing exhibition space that simply invites you to visit us,” emphasized Luka Rossi, president of Vinistra.
As part of the fair, Vinistra is once again organizing exciting workshops, led by renowned wine expert Master of Wine Caroline Gilby, a great admirer of Istria’s terroir.
The workshop Many Faces of Istrian Wines will reveal to wine critics and media representatives a variety of different styles of wines and sparkling wines from Istria. Meanwhile, the workshop Don’t Forget the Z – The Ageing Potential of Istrian Malvasia will showcase the finest examples of aged Malvasia wines, including the oldest vintage from 2006.
“I congratulate the Vinistra Association on its continued participation at Prowein, the world’s largest wine fair in Germany, as well as all Istrian winemakers and winegrowers for their enthusiasm, exceptional effort, and excellent promotion of our Istria. One of the most important wine fairs is an opportunity to promote Istria as a wine region and our premium wines, with a focus on indigenous varieties Malvasia and Teran – not only to the German market but also to distributors, wine critics, and hospitality professionals from around the world who never miss Prowein. I am convinced that the Vinistra stand will once again attract numerous serious distributors who are well aware of Istria, confirming that we are a true boutique region offering world-class wines. I always like to point out that Istrian winemaking strives to position itself in the segment of excellence, and that is why I believe that participating in fairs such as Prowein is the best promotion for our products and for the entire region,” said Boris Miletić, Prefect of the Istrian Region.
In addition to participating in the world’s most famous wine fair, preparations are in full swing for this year’s edition of Vinistra, which will be held from May 9 to 11 in Poreč. Early bird online tickets for this most attractive wine exhibition in the region are already available.
