The Rossi Dynasty

The interesting history of the Rossi family began back in 1885 when Istria was still part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Over time, states and systems changed, but the diligent generations of the Rossi’s continued their engagement in the production of wine and brandy, even during the period when distillation was prohibited in the Kingdom of Italy. After World War II, during the era of socialist Yugoslavia, they also persisted in their activities. 

In the 1980s, young Marino joined the business, enhancing wine production and developing new spirits that would later bring them acclaim, such as Biska and Medica.Marino and his wife Ines took over the business in the 1990s, and alongside them, their sons Luka, Marko, and Filip were gradually introduced to the business from a young age. Today, these three are the protagonists of the entire story, which, with the completion of a modern tasting room, has been elevated to a high level. 

In the wine sector, they stand out with fresh malvazija istarska, rosé, and Chardonnay, as well as aged malvazija istarska (Templara) and a Bordeaux blend called Moro. In the realm of spirits, they present ten labels, including Gin, Pelinkovac, grappa made from Yellow Muscat, and aged brandy called Šovran.
