Zigante Wines

Giancarlo Zigante is a highly significant figure in the Croatian gastronomy scene. This successful businessman, known as the "Truffle King," holds the Guinness World Record for finding the largest white truffle in the world. The truffle was discovered in 1999 and weighed 1.31 kg. After establishing himself in the truffle processing and hospitality business, which he passed on to his sons Adrian and Marin and daughter Antonella, he decided to return to his roots and invest in viticulture and olive growing.

In his native Kostanjica, on gentle slopes with fertile white soil, he planted vineyards and olive trees in 2010 and made his debut in the wine market with the 2012 harvest. The vineyards are dominated by autochthonous grape varieties such as Istrian Malvasia and Teran, but also include numerous international grape varieties such as Muscat Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

They offer about ten wine labels on the market and cultivate four hectares of olive groves. The wine and olive oil are marketed under the brand "Zigante Truffles" and are available in their own ten stores and at numerous partners both in Croatia and throughout Europe.
