OMO
Milan Budinski is one of the most significant Croatian enologists of the younger generation in this century. As a young enologist, he developed and matured at the Poreč Agrolaguna, where he introduced many excellent wines to the market from 2010 to 2022. Today, he is one of the most sought-after "flying winemakers" in this region and collaborates with several eminent wineries.
In addition, since 2020, Milan has launched his own wine production, which he realizes in collaboration with the well-known Istrian winery Veralda, where he rents part of the cellar. In the near future, he plans to build his own winery and establish his own vineyards, but for now, he purchases grapes from the best locations on the white soil around Buje. Milan's brand is called OMO, which means "man" in the local dialect, and currently, two labels are present on the market: Malvasia Istriana and Refosco, with Teran also planned for the future.
Milan Budinski's idea is to exclusively market aged wines under the OMO brand because he believes that this is the way to fully utilize the potential of these noble grape varieties. OMO wines are produced in small batches, and the first vintage released on the market was in 2020.
