Kadum Wines
The Kadum family winery from the suburb of Poreč, Bujići, is the heir to a rich history that began in 1882 with Ivan Radolović-Mateus, who at the time owned sixty hectares of vineyards and olive groves, making him one of the significant landowners in the Poreč district. After his death, a series of unfortunate events led to the division of the estate, but the heirs continued to engage in viticulture and winemaking for personal use.
The cycle of life continues, and Darko Kadum, whose mother Nela is the great-granddaughter of Ivan Radolović and inherited the remaining estate, followed in his great-grandfather's footsteps. In 2012, Darko and his wife Luana began the restoration of the estate by planting the first olive grove and two hectares of vineyards on deep red soil in Buići. In 2019, their son Ivan joined the business, continuing the expansion of the property and planting new vineyards.
Today, the Kadum winery cultivates six hectares of vineyards and two hectares of olive groves, with a selection of Malvasia Istriana, Refosco, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are present in the market with about ten wine labels, and their fresh Istrian Malvasia has already won numerous awards.
