Domaine Koquelicot

The married couple Jacqueline Marovac and Olivier Ertzbischoff are the creators of a beautiful and romantic wine story in Istria. They spent most of their professional lives in medicine and traveled a good part of the world. They traveled a lot in life and tried many good wines. In the end, they settled in the picturesque town of Gračišće and in 2012, they started a boutique winery.

They chose Istria because Jacqueline was born in Rijeka, so they chose her native region for their stay. From the beginning, their desire was to bring French wine style to Istria through their wines, which they succeeded in doing, quickly finding a large audience. Domaine Koquelicot, as a boutique winery, produces between 8 and 10 thousand bottles of wine annually and is present on the market with about ten wine labels. The audience has recognized the French wine expression with an Istrian touch in their wines.

Through the sparkling wines Kontempo, Luna, and Karino rosé, they have brought us a champagne style, through the creamy Chardonnays Belaigra and Epicuria, they have brought us closer to the Burgundy style of wines, while the black blends Bohem, Enkanto, and Nomad follow a pure Bordeaux style from the right bank with a small regional touch of Teran.
