Bertoša

Kaldir has been an agricultural area for centuries, where almost every family, including the Bertoša family, has been involved in fruit growing and viticulture. However, it was only in 2006 that Guerino Bertoša decided to take a serious step in winemaking, embarking on the revitalization of neglected plots, with the help of his young son Robi.

They first appeared on the market with the 2009 harvest and immediately attracted attention with the quality of their wines. The vineyards are planted in deep white soil and located in the vicinity of Motovun and Kaldir. Today, the winery is led by Robi, managing six hectares of vineyards, with plans to expand to ten hectares. The predominant varieties in the vineyard are Istrian Malvasia and Teran. They have also paid special attention to Pinot Gris, and still have some Merlot and White Muscat.

They are present on the market with five wine labels, branded as "Berba", each with a separate author's label where fresh wines have lighter shades on the label, while aged wines have darker ones, and the message of the Bertoša winery is conveyed through the labels: "Handpicked from the Istrian hilltops". The Bertoša cellar and tasting room are located at the end of the village, offering a beautiful view of the Mirna River valley.
