The best Malvasia and Teran, socializing with famous winemakers, lots of positive energy and more than 10 thousand visitors - the 28th edition of the Istrian wine exhibition once again delighted everyone
Regardless of whether it is organized in Žatika or outdoors like last year, Vinistra confirms its status as the most renowned regional wine event. This was demonstrated by its 28th edition, where more than 10,000 visitors, including a large number of foreign guests, passed through the Poreč hall from Friday to Sunday.
Famous faces like model and designer Helena Šopar Zadro, actress Nataša Janjić Medančić, eno-gastro blogger Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, musicians Elvis Stanić and Edi Maružin, film director Rajko Grlić, EU parliamentarian and former Istrian prefect Ivan Jakovčić arrived in Poreč...
“Where there are good wines, there is a lot of positive energy. I would highlight Malvasia from Greece and Spain, platinum and gold Malvasia and Teran of well-known Istrian names, and there are some serious wines from boutique wineries that are yet to be heard of. In essence, as the good spirit of Vinistra Emil Perdec says, everything is good here", said Ribafish.
And Emil Perdec, sommelier and corporate food and beverage manager at Plava Laguna, a long-time partner of Vinistra, points out that with the great interest of visitors and professionals, the event is getting better in terms of organization and wine.
“The quality of Vinistra's wine judging has also increased, which is extremely encouraging for winemakers, therefore the wines are also world-class. But the greatest value of the exhibition is the branding of Istria as an attractive wine destination with excellent Malvasia and Teran," concludes Perdec.
Let us remind you that this year, 110 exhibitors exhibited on 3.5 thousand square meters, of which 80 were winemakers, and Nikola Benvenuti, president of Vinistra, the association of winemakers and winegrowers of Istria, says that the exhibitors are satisfied with the number of visitors and business meetings.
“Year on year, visitors are more and more educated, they know the Istrian wine scene and the characteristics of Istrian varieties, and they know exactly what they want," Benvenuti points out.
See you at the 29th Vinistra!
