A new generational shift in Vinistra! Former president Nikola Benvenuti presented his successor, a young and promising thirty-year-old from a well-known wine family
The new president of Vinistra, Luka Rossi, was elected for a four-year term at today's Vinistra Assembly. After two extremely successful terms, Nikola Benvenuti decided to step down as the head of the most famous Istrian association, but as a member of the new Supervisory Board, he remains involved.
Luka Rossi was the only candidate for president, Nikola Benvenuti introduced him to the members as an extremely hard-working, serious and promising winemaker from one of the oldest Istrian winemaking families, who runs a winery with two of his brothers in the small village of Bajkini near Vižinada.
“With the generational shift comes new positive energy and opens the door to new trends. I congratulate the newly elected president and wish him success, and I would like to thank all members of Vinistra for their support and cooperation during the past eight years. We have done a great job and I am convinced that we will continue in the same direction. The secret to our success is in our togetherness, and as long as we continue to behave like that, there will be no shortage of success," says Nikola Benvenuti.
Luka Rossi was a candidate for the best Croatian farmer last year. Although he works both in the vineyard and in the cellar, in the family winery he is in charge of promotion and sales, so members of Vinistra expect the most from the young winemaker in the field of marketing and promotion.
“I would like to thank the members of Vinistra for their trust. I am aware of the fact that I have a great responsibility and I am ready to tackle all the challenges that this position brings. As an association, Vinistra is extremely well organized, it rests on good foundations, it has a clearly developed strategy, and I believe that we will succeed in realizing all the set goals", emphasized the new president.
Ezio Pinzan, the head of the Administrative Department for Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting, Fisheries and Water Management of the Istria County, congratulated Rossi on his new position.
At the election Assembly, along with Nikola Benvenuti and Luka Rossi, the winemakers appointed Josip Barišić, Marko Krstačić, Ivan Damjanić, Lara Zgrablić, David Deklić, Ivica Matošević and Gianfranco Kozlić to the new Supervisory Board, and Ivan Marić will remain Vinistra's director for the next four years.
