One of the world's largest judging panels is coming to Istria - small Istria prevailed over much larger wine regions, which is a great recognition for Istrian winemakers 

What the Champions League is in sports, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is in the wine world. This prestigious world competition is coming to Istria in May 2023. This is a great recognition for Istrian winemakers and Istria as a wine region. The excellent news for the whole of Croatia was just announced at a gala lunch in the town of Cosenza in the Italian Calabria. There, the representatives of Vinistra and Istria County presented Istrian attractions in a short presentation along with a traditional Istrian lunch combined with top quality Malvasias and Terans that are hard to resist.

More than 350 wine judges, global promotion

“With the aim of promoting Istrian wines and the Istrian peninsula as an attractive wine destination, the Vinistra association nominated Poreč to host this well-known judging process in the section of still red and white wines, which will gather more than 350 wine judges, top wine connoisseurs and experts from 11 to 14 May in the Žatika hall in Poreč. 60 percent of them are wine journalists. Over the course of a few days, they will evaluate approximately ten thousand samples from approximately fifty countries, and the marketing value for Istria and Istrian wines is immeasurable,” the president of Vinistra Nikola Benvenuti pointed out.
Accompanying programs, excursions and tastings are organized for the participants of this world wine event, so the judges will get to know Istria, and the announcements on social networks, portals, blogs, TV shows and in magazines will go around the world.

The members of Vinistra and representatives of the Istria County received the representatives of the organization Concours Mondial de Bruxelles back in February, who obviously liked what they saw and experienced in Istria.

Along with Decanter and IWC, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is the world's largest wine judging event. It was founded in 1994, and since 2006 it has been held every other year in a different country, and so far it has visited fifteen of the most famous wine countries, among which now - thanks to Vinistra – you can find Croatia.
