During 2014, the golden flavescence is officially confirmed for the first time and in two locations in Istria (in Buie and in thePorec area), so the region is now part of a number of European wine regions that have to deal with this new threat to viticulture. The golden flavescence can be kept under control, but it really needs a good understanding of the problem and appropriate and prompt action by the producers, as well as from other operators in the wine sector. The conference is intended primarily for manufacturers of Istria, as well as other interested parties. The goal of the conference is to familiarize producers with a dangerous vine disease and the measures to be taken in order to suppress and prevent further spread.
